The FT has just reported that SSE have been successful in their appeal over their capital allowance claim on Glendoe.
The Glendoe scheme overlooks Loch Ness and has been the subject of a long ranging debate with HMRC.
The full judgment will create a precedent for other schemes and will be welcomed by taxpayers.
The Supreme Court, the UK’s final court of appeal, ruled that the FTSE 100 energy company was entitled to claim capital allowances on about £200mn of spending on the Glendoe hydroelectric plant above Loch Ness in Scotland.
