On 17 July, I had the privilege of attending a Special Reception in honour of the Illinois trade delegation at the US Embassy in London. The delegation was led by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and featured leaders from the US Government, including Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, Emanuel Chris Welch.
The event was part of a week-long visit, and the delegation of US business leaders will meet with their contacts in London to discuss the expansion of partnerships between the State of Illinois and the United Kingdom.
Consolidating existing relationships and building new ones with US connected businesses
Saffery was invited to attend the event as part of our ongoing relationship with British American Business, the leading transatlantic trade association incorporating the British-American Chamber of Commerce in the US and the American Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
This relationship reflects the nature of Saffery’s continued involvement and collaboration with US businesses looking to establish a footprint in the UK, and also the many UK clients we act for who are looking to expand their businesses into the US market.
In addition to the delegation headed by Governor Pritzker, attendees at the event included representatives from the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade, the UK international trade, investment and promotion agency London & Partners, and many UK business leaders with connections to the US generally and Illinois in particular.
